Before: the upright piano in the third-floor living room

Project Summary

A Logan Square resident had an upright piano on the third floor of a walk-up and no one willing to move it. The only route out was the rear wooden staircase down to the alley. The crew took it down with a piano board and straps, one landing at a time, and loaded it in the alley. The cast-iron plate and strings went to scrap; the case to disposal. Upper-floor pianos take more hands and more care than ground-floor ones — the crew's onsite estimate accounts for the stairs.
