Pool tables are the item people most often try to give away and can't. Moving one properly requires dismantling it, and reassembling it requires a specialist, so the free table on the neighborhood group stays in the basement. We've removed 26 pool tables in the last 24 months, almost all from basements and rec rooms.
The crew removes the rails, pockets and felt, lifts out the slate (usually three pieces of 150–250 pounds each), and breaks down the frame. Slate is stone and goes to disposal; wood is disposed of; metal hardware is recycled.
