Illinois banned whole tires from landfills in the 1990s, which is why your garbage hauler drives past them and why they pile up in alleys and garages. Licensed tire recyclers accept them for a per-tire fee and turn them into crumb rubber, playground surfacing and fuel. We take tires to those recyclers as part of any junk pickup, or as a dedicated tire run for shops and property owners with a lot of them. Tires with rims are fine — we pull the rims for scrap steel and recycle both. Tractor, truck and oversized tires cost more per unit at the recycler and the crew will price them individually.

What We Take

  • Passenger car and light-truck tires
  • Tires on rims (we separate them)
  • Commercial truck and trailer tires
  • Tractor, ATV and lawn-tractor tires
  • Bicycle and motorcycle tires
  • Alley and vacant-lot tire dumps (property owners)
  • Tire piles behind auto shops and garages
  • Old tire swings and planters

How Tire Removal & Disposal Works

  1. 1

    Book a free onsite estimate

Book online, or call or text (312) 800-1940. Pick an arrival window — same-day and next-day are often available, Monday through Saturday.

  2. 2

The crew gives you a firm price on the spot

They look at everything and quote one number that covers labor, loading, hauling and disposal. No obligation: if it doesn't work for you, they leave and there's no charge.

  3. 3

Say yes and it's gone — same visit

The crew carries everything out from wherever it sits, loads it, and sweeps up. Most jobs are finished in that same visit.

  4. 4

You don't even have to be there

If the crew can reach the items — alley, garage, a doorman or a code — they'll do the job while you're at work, send before-and-after photos, and take payment by phone or with a card on file.

Tire Removal & Disposal FAQs

Why won't the City of Chicago take tires?

Illinois law prohibits landfilling whole tires, so they can't go in the regular waste stream. Chicago residents can bring a few tires to a city drop-off event; beyond that, a hauler like us takes them to a licensed recycler.

Is there a fee per tire?

Yes, a small per-tire recycling fee is part of the estimate — that's what the licensed recycler charges us.

Do you take tires still on the rims?

Yes. We separate rim and tire; the rim is recycled as steel or aluminum, the tire goes to the recycler.

Someone dumped tires on my property. Will you take them?

Yes — this is common in Chicago alleys and vacant lots. Property owners are responsible for removing dumped tires; we'll clear the pile and give you documentation. See our guide to illegal dumping on your property.

Do you do bulk tire pickups for shops?

Yes, one-time or on a schedule.

Free Onsite Estimate, One Firm Price

We don't quote by phone. The crew comes out for free, looks at what's going and how it's getting out — stairs, elevators, heavy material — and gives you one number that covers everything. Say yes and they do the job on the spot. Say no and there's no charge.
