Carpet is heavier and dirtier than it looks: a room's worth with padding is several hundred pounds of dust, staples and whatever soaked in over the years. We've handled 264 carpet jobs in the last 24 months — sometimes as the tear-out crew before a flooring install, often just hauling the rolls a contractor left behind, and frequently as part of a flooded-basement cleanup. We cut carpet into manageable strips, roll and tape it, pull the padding and tack strips, and sweep the subfloor. Carpet isn't recyclable in the Chicago market, so it goes to a licensed disposal facility; we separate any metal.

What We Take

  • Wall-to-wall carpet and padding
  • Carpet tiles and commercial carpet
  • Area rugs and runners
  • Tack strips and staples (pulled and swept)
  • Carpet from stairs (the tedious one)
  • Water-damaged and moldy carpet from floods
  • Rolls left by an installer
  • Underlayment and old vinyl or laminate (see debris removal)

How Carpet Removal & Disposal Works

  1. 1

    Book a free onsite estimate

Book online, or call or text (312) 800-1940. Pick an arrival window — same-day and next-day are often available, Monday through Saturday.

  2. 2

The crew gives you a firm price on the spot

They look at everything and quote one number that covers labor, loading, hauling and disposal. No obligation: if it doesn't work for you, they leave and there's no charge.

  3. 3

Say yes and it's gone — same visit

The crew carries everything out from wherever it sits, loads it, and sweeps up. Most jobs are finished in that same visit.

  4. 4

You don't even have to be there

If the crew can reach the items — alley, garage, a doorman or a code — they'll do the job while you're at work, send before-and-after photos, and take payment by phone or with a card on file.

Real Jobs, Real Results

Westchester

700 Square Feet of Carpet Pulled to Reveal Hardwood — Westchester, IL

A Westchester house had wall-to-wall carpet — some of it decades old — over the living room, dining room, hallway and two bedrooms, roughly 600–700 square feet. The crew cut the carpet into strips, rolled it, pulled the padding, and removed every tack strip and staple. Underneath: original hardwood in good shape. Everything was swept and the rolls went on the truck. If there's hardwood under your carpet, pulling it is the cheapest flooring upgrade you'll ever make.

Second-Floor Carpet Tear-Out Plus Appliances and Debris — Chatham, Chicago

A property owner turning over a second-floor unit in Chatham needed the carpet pulled from four rooms, plus a stove, refrigerator, bathroom sink and toilet, about 25 bags of garbage, and the contents of the cabinets and closets. One crew, one visit. Carpet and padding came out room by room, appliances and fixtures were carried down, bags went into the truck. The subfloor was swept. For landlords, we combine the carpet, the appliances and the trash into one truck and one invoice.

Carpet Removal & Disposal FAQs

Do you pull up the carpet or just haul it?

Either. We can do the full tear-out — cut, roll, pull padding and tack strips, sweep — or just haul rolls you or your installer already pulled. The crew quotes whichever you need on arrival.

Is old carpet recyclable?

Not in the Chicago area at present. It goes to a licensed disposal facility. We pull and recycle the metal tack strips.

Can you remove carpet from stairs?

Yes. Stairs are slow work (staples every few inches) and the crew accounts for that in the estimate.

My basement carpet flooded. How fast can you come?

Same or next day in most cases. Wet carpet should be out within 48 hours to limit mold growth. Take photos for your insurer first.

Do you take the rugs and the furniture on them?

Yes, all on the same truck. See furniture removal.

Free Onsite Estimate, One Firm Price

We don't quote by phone. The crew comes out for free, looks at what's going and how it's getting out — stairs, elevators, heavy material — and gives you one number that covers everything. Say yes and they do the job on the spot. Say no and there's no charge.

  • All labor, lifting & loading
  • Hauling & transport
  • Dismantling in place
  • Full cleanup & sweep-up
