A two-story Deerfield home had leftover contents to clear: a basement lined floor to ceiling with boxes and shelving, filing cabinets, and a crawl space packed with more boxes. The crew emptied the shelving (which stayed), cleared the crawl space by hand, and carried everything up. The customer asked us to call an hour before arrival, which we did. The basement was left broom-clean with the shelving standing. Crawl spaces are the slowest part of a basement job — low, dark and hand-carry only. The crew accounts for that in the estimate.

Full basements are priced per truckload. This one was several, and every trip up the stairs was part of the crew's estimate.

A Westchester house had wall-to-wall carpet — some of it decades old — over the living room, dining room, hallway and two bedrooms, roughly 600–700 square feet. The crew cut the carpet into strips, rolled it, pulled the padding, and removed every tack strip and staple. Underneath: original hardwood in good shape. Everything was swept and the rolls went on the truck. If there's hardwood under your carpet, pulling it is the cheapest flooring upgrade you'll ever make.

One of our contractor accounts was gutting a high-rise condo — walls, closets, kitchen tile and flooring — and needed debris hauled out repeatedly as the demo progressed, through a reserved freight elevator and a strict building schedule. This visit was the second debris run of the project: drywall, studs, tile and old flooring carried out on carts, down the freight elevator and into the truck at the dock. Before-and-after photos went to the contractor with the invoice, as they do on every account job. Contractors on account text us when the pile is ready. We come, we photograph, we invoice monthly.

A suburban office in Itasca needed about twenty cubicle workstations — panels, work surfaces, overhead bins, pedestal files and lateral cabinets — dismantled and removed. Cubicle systems are held together with hundreds of connectors and don't fit through doors assembled, so the crew broke each station down to panels and surfaces, stacked them on carts, and loaded through the dock. Lateral files and pedestals went out as scrap metal. Multiple truckloads. Cubicle dismantling is priced as one job up front. There's no hourly meter running while we find the last connector.

The unit was swept and photographed before and after for the landlord's file. No photos on this one by choice — we don't publish images of a former tenant's belongings. We scheduled it as a multi-day project, quoted per truckload in advance, and ran multiple trucks from the alley. It took 13 to 15 truckloads over several days. Usable furniture was re-homed where possible; books, metal and cardboard were separated for recycling. Whole-house estates are priced per truckload, agreed before we start, so a multi-day job holds no surprises at the end.

The pump, heater and metal frame were pulled for scrap; the shell and foam went to disposal. Hot tubs that came in during construction can still come out — the crew cuts them into pieces that fit through whatever door you have.

The tricky part was the nine support posts, each set in a concrete footing, which had to come out completely so the area could be regraded and seeded. The crew removed the decking, railings and stairs first, then the framing, then dug and pulled each post with its footing. The cut line against the remaining deck was left clean for capping. Everything went on the truck the same day, footings included. Post footings are the part of a deck removal most people underestimate. The crew will tell you onsite whether they can come out by hand.

This spa was sunk into a raised deck, with decking boards running right up to the shell. The tub was drained and the electrical disconnected before the crew arrived. The crew lifted the decking boards around the perimeter, freed the shell, cut it into sections and carried them out through the yard gate. We left the deck framing intact and square so the owner's carpenter could deck over the opening. The old tub cover, pump pack and plumbing went on the same truck. Sunken tubs take an extra hour because we have to open the deck around them — but they still come out without a crane.

The crew unbolted the towers, cut the main beams into carryable lengths, pulled the ground anchors and loaded everything, slide included.
