We removed over 1,000 mattresses in the last 24 months. It's a simple job that people put off because there's no simple way to do it yourself: mattress retailers charge a haul-away fee and often won't take a mattress that isn't in a bag, Chicago's bulk pickup is a 311 request with a wait, and a mattress left in the alley is a fine waiting to happen. Springs and steel are recycled; foam and fabric are disposed of at a licensed facility. Box springs, frames and headboards go on the same truck. And if the mattress is in the garage or the alley, you don't need to be home — the crew texts you the price, takes it, and sends a photo.

How much does it cost?
We don't quote by phone — the crew gives you one firm, no-obligation price when they see the mattress and the route out. Stairs, elevators and heavy items are part of that estimate, so the price they quote is the price you pay. If it doesn't work for you, there's no charge.
Does the City of Chicago pick up mattresses?
Not on regular garbage day. You can request a bulk pickup through 311, but the wait can be weeks, and the mattress has to sit in the alley until then. Some suburbs allow mattresses on garbage day with a sticker; check your village's rules.
Do you take mattresses with bedbugs?
Once the room has been treated by a pest company, yes — we don't remove untreated infested items. After treatment, the crew bags and seals the mattress before carrying it through the building.
Do I need to bag or wrap the mattress?
No. If it's heavily soiled or from a treated bedbug situation, the crew brings the bag.
Are mattresses recycled?
The steel springs are. Foam and fabric aren't recyclable in the Chicago area at present and go to a licensed facility.
Can you come the same day?
Often, yes — same-day and next-day are available Monday through Saturday. See same-day junk removal.
Do I need to be home?
No — and a lot of our customers aren't. If the crew can reach the item (alley, garage, porch, a doorman or a door code), they text you the price for a yes, do the job, send before-and-after photos, and take payment by phone or card on file.
