Storage facilities are designed for putting things in, not getting them out — narrow hallways, elevator-only access, carts you have to fight for. We've cleared 84 storage units in the last 24 months at facilities all over Chicago and the suburbs, and we know the drill: we bring our own carts, we work fast inside the access hours, and we take everything that isn't marked to keep. It's also a common job for people handling a parent's estate, or an executor working from out of state — many facilities will let us in with your written authorization and the gate code, so you don't have to fly in for it. Metal, wood and cardboard are separated for recycling; appliances and electronics go to a local recycler; anything that can be re-homed instead of landfilled, is.

Real Jobs, Real Results

Bolingbrook

10x25 Storage Locker Cleared to the Walls — Bolingbrook, IL

A customer was closing out a 10x25 storage locker in Bolingbrook — one of the largest units facilities offer. Furniture, boxes, framed art, bins and a garage's worth of odds and ends. The crew loaded everything and left the unit swept and empty for the walk-through. Multiple truckloads. A 10x25 unit that's been full for years is usually two to three truckloads. The crew sizes it up at the door before anything moves.

Mount Prospect

Interior Storage Unit Cleared, Account Closed Same Day — Mount Prospect, IL

A Mount Prospect customer had an interior storage unit holding shrink-wrapped patio furniture, a couch, folding tables and chairs, shelving, appliances and boxes of books. The crew brought carts, worked the elevator to the loading area, and cleared the unit. The metal shelving was recycled; the rest went on one truck. Interior units are slower than drive-up units because of the elevator. The crew factors that in before quoting, not after.

Glenview

Storage Unit with Furniture, Mattress and Medical Exam Table — Glenview, IL

An unusual mix in a Glenview storage unit: household furniture, a mattress and box spring, boxes, an older TV — and an exam table and cabinets from a doctor's practice. The crew cleared it in one visit. The exam table and metal cabinets went to scrap; the TV to electronics recycling; the mattress and furniture to disposal. One truckload. Odd items don't faze the crew — an exam table takes about the same room on the truck as a dresser.

Storage Unit Cleanouts FAQs

Do I need to be there?

Not usually. With the gate code, unit number and your instructions, the crew quotes by text, clears the unit while you're at work, and sends you a photo of the empty space. Some facilities require the renter to be present — check with yours.

Which facilities do you work with?

Any of them — Public Storage, Extra Space, CubeSmart, Life Storage, U-Haul, local independents. We've worked at facilities from Skokie to Naperville to the South Loop.

Can you take just some of it and leave the rest?

Yes. Many people keep a small pile of boxes and have us take the furniture and bulk. Point at what stays.

What if the unit is in someone else's name (an estate, a parent)?

Facilities usually want written authorization from the account holder or the executor, plus your ID. Sort that out with the facility first and we'll do the rest.

Do you clean the unit out completely so I can close it?

Yes — swept and empty so you can do the final walk-through and cancel the same day.

Free Onsite Estimate, One Firm Price

We don't quote by phone. The crew comes out for free, looks at what's going and how it's getting out — stairs, elevators, heavy material — and gives you one number that covers everything. Say yes and they do the job on the spot. Say no and there's no charge.

  • All labor, lifting & loading
  • Hauling & transport
  • Dismantling in place
  • Full cleanup & sweep-up
  • Disposal & recycling fees

The price is confirmed on site before anything moves — no surprises on the invoice. How our pricing works →
